What small repairs cost

45 €/hour, two-hour minimum, prices include VAT. Tools are ours; materials are billed separately or you buy them yourself.

TaskTimeCost
Wall-mounting a television1 h45 €
Hanging a shelf or mirror0.5 h45 €
Curtain rails throughout the flat1–2 h45–90 €
Adjusting or replacing an internal door1–2 h45–90 €
A list of small jobs in one visit2–4 h90–180 €
The minimum is two hours, so a single shelf is not worth booking alone. Collect a list of small jobs and we will do them in one visit.

Maintenance work qualifies for the tax credit

Maintenance and improvement work carried out in the home qualifies for kotitalousvähennys. For 2026 the credit is 35 % of the labour cost, up to 1 600 euros per person, with a 150 euro own-liability.

The credit covers labour only. Materials — screws, plugs, trim, paint — fall outside it, so they are worth itemising as a separate line.

The government has proposed raising the credit to 40 % and 2 100 euros for 2026–2027, retroactively from January. As of July 2026 the bill had not passed.

What we do not do, and why

In Finland certain work is licensed and may not be carried out without the qualification. We set the boundaries out plainly so you do not end up booking twice.

  • Electrical work on fixed installations: sockets, switches, lighting points and the consumer unit. These belong to a licensed electrical contractor.
  • Plumbing work on the water supply or drainage network. This requires a KVV qualification.
  • Alterations to ventilation systems.
  • Alterations to load-bearing structures and creating openings in them.
  • Waterproofing in wet rooms — this requires certification.
We do what is not licensed: fixings, plug-in appliance installation, furniture, adjusting doors and windows, replacing a tap on an existing connection. If a job turns out to be licensed work, we say so on site and do not charge for it.

One visit, a list of jobs

The typical booking is not one job but a list: pictures on the wall, a shelf in the kitchen, curtain rails in two rooms, a cupboard door hanging crooked, a dripping tap.

Booked separately, each would incur the minimum charge. In one visit they are done in sequence and you pay only for the time used.

  • Write the list in advance, including the small things
  • Tell us the wall types: concrete, brick or plasterboard
  • Buy the materials yourself, or tell us and we will bring them
  • Two hours is usually enough for 4–6 small jobs

Frequently asked questions

How much does wall-mounting a TV cost?

About an hour's work, so 45 euros. The minimum booking is two hours, so it is worth combining with other small jobs. Tell us the wall type and the size of the television in advance.

Do small repairs qualify for the tax credit?

Yes. Maintenance and improvement work in the home qualifies: 35 % of the labour cost in 2026, up to 1 600 euros per person, with a 150 euro own-liability. Materials do not qualify.

Do you do electrical work?

Not fixed installations — sockets, switches, lighting points and the consumer unit belong to a licensed electrical contractor. We install appliances that plug into a socket.

Do you replace taps?

Yes, where it is a replacement onto an existing connection. Alterations to pipework require a KVV qualification and may not be done without it.

Do you supply materials?

We can bring them, or you buy them yourself. Materials are invoiced on a separate line — they do not qualify for the tax credit, so itemising is worthwhile.

Can I book several small jobs at once?

That is exactly how to do it. Two hours is usually enough for 4–6 small jobs and you pay only for the time used. Write the list in advance and tell us the wall types.

Customer Reviews

★★★★★

I had accumulated a list of 8 tasks: mount TV, curtain rod, 3 shelves, replace tap and adjust doors. The handyman handled it in 2.5 hours. I would have fussed for a week. Payment exactly by the hour.
